Antes Up Irish Poker Rankings  With the increasing popularity of poker in Ireland, Antes Up has decided to launch the Antes Up Poker rankings. Qualifying tournaments must be over €200 to enter and be fully dealer dealt. The minimum feild size is 30 and the event must be run no more than once a month (weekly games do not count). Each month there are plenty of these types of tournaments for players to earn ranking points. A players top six results count towards their overall score.Where a deal is done in a tournament, all players left receive points based on the amount of players left. For example, if a deal is done with 3 players left all players get 3rd place points regardless of who wins or takes the most money. Similarly if a deal is done with 5 left, all players get 5th place points. Green Joker Poker have kindly donated some prizes for the top players and they will be presented at an awards ceremony at The European Deepstack Poker Championships in Feb 2008. The top player will recieve €2500, 2nd €1500 and 3rd €1000. How to score ranking points The top 9 players in ranking tournaments with less than 150 players score points.. The scoring system is based on the position finished and a multiplier is used to weight the points dependant on field size. The the tables below shows the points and weighting:
Example: Player A finishes 1st in a €250 event with 105 players. He gets 200*2*2 points which is 800. Player B finishes 4th in a €1500 event with 230 players. He gets 100*4*2.5 points which is 1000. |
